The inability to access even downloaded issues while off line makes this app just one or two steps better than useless for me.

This seems to be a recurring trend. Recommend investing in better tech. It’s tough to keep supporting your writers when the app inevitably fails.

The articles are well-written and not your normal gun magazine. Timely information and cool gear reviews. Well worth the money. The print copy has great paper and feel. They didn't go cheap like all the rest.

I have paid for subscription, but I can’t download any issues

Most times when I try to use the app it will not reinstall my iTunes subscription. I just cancelled my subscription. Save your money and the frustration.

Always look forward to the different articles each issue. Layout on mobile devices have been excellent.

Easy to use and dependable.

This is straight gun porn, with insightful articles. Something to enjoy…as long as they keep subtleties of right wing politics out of it…it’s the best…hands down!

I have been a recoil magazine subscriber on iPhone several years. It seems like the app is always broken and I’m unable to access any content whatsoever. It consistently asks me to subscribe to become a member if I want access to view the digital magazines, however, I already am. When I try to re-pay and do it again in hopes of accessing any content it tells me I’m already a member and displays my next renewal date. However, I still cannot access any of the content whatsoever. I’ve tried to restore my subscription dozens of times and never works. This is beyond frustrating and it seems like there’s not a fix anywhere.

I bought a year subscription and cannot access my account or download a magazine.

Unfortunately, the app always seems to have issues. Recoil is by far my favorite firearm magazine but the app is often broken. Especially lacking the ability to read the magazines offline, which is often the entire point of having a magazine reader.

Can no longer view issues offline, which is huge for me. Has been this way for sometime.

Save yourself the trouble and DO NOT subscribe via apple. Zino apps has made this app horribly buggy for years and I just lost all my mag issues for about the 6th time and I have no interest in dealing with Zino apps support again. Canceled subscription and requested refund. Recoil, you’d be making a great business decision if you’d go with a different app developer...you’re losing subscribers that don’t really want your content.

I enjoy reading this magazine, always has good info. But the app needs some help. It either won’t up 100% or freezes up and then ask you to update the app. It also won’t buy/ download new issue of the magazine.

App asks me to download latest version every time I open it, but I have the latest version.

App ignores my paid subscription can’t download new editions and worst of all deleted all of the ones that I had.

Recoil is a great magazine with lots of info! All the reviews and history about firearms, and war is awesome. The app is ok, and I hope the kinks will get worked out. Not being able to access some of the magazines is a real let down.

Agree that this app should work without Internet available, but till that’s fixed - if you open the app in the terminal when you have Internet and leave it up in the background, you can read on the plane. QED. Great magazine with a good point of view - keep it up!

Recoil has the best gun and industry content with the worst delivery method through this app. You’re killing me Recoil!

I’ve been trying to download the latest installment of Concealment to no avail. I keep getting an “internet connection error”. Want to download the mag and read on an airplane with no internet? Good luck. If the problems aren’t fixed, I’ll be canceling my subscription very soon. What a PITA!

I love the content in Recoil and have been a subscriber for a long time, but the last app update was TERRIBLE and basically rendered the app unusable. I can hardly access content and cannot download new content like the latest Concealment issue #13. Please read the numerous critical reviews and fix the app!!!

I love this magazine. They provide amazing content! The app is a little glitchy at times. But, it overrides the convenience of being able to read it anywhere vs the paperback copy.

When I first subscribed, I’d get recoil and all the special issues with no problem. The last version gave me problems Accessing back issues that I had to get resolved. With this new version accessing the issues I paid for is scattershot, and the special issues like concealment that used to be included? They don’t work, but they will happily direct me to a separate app for another money grab. I’ve about had it with this app, and unfortunately this magazine.

Every time the app gets updated all downloaded magazines disappear and then when you try to download them again a potion of them are no longer available for days to weeks. Some of us like reading and rereading this mag but I’ve about had it! This time the new issue of Recoil Concealment is not included but there is a new app for it where I can buy them all over again, it’s exhausting having to jump through the hoops every time!!!

Well??? Since it’s becoming apparent that whomever runs and manages your app isn’t grasping the whole “fix the app” thing, how about you have this person download a competitive app and see how a digital magazine should work for a paying customer 🤦‍♂️??? This has been an issue for months, hence why I always wait to post reviews until after I’ve truly experienced interactions with my purchase... Additionally it’s not the customers responsibility to have to point the specifics out as to why the app crashes nor should it be public! Seriously, make it happen and give something additional to all of your customers that rewards us tolerating this crap 💩 for months on end! Update 4-24-19!!! Love the magazines and it’s great content, but the app absolute crap. Crashes constantly. When it does run many issue are blank. I can see the pages in the across the bottom but when I tap on one a blank page is all I get. Have worked with customer service over and over again. They do keep trying but the issue never is fully resolved. Latest issue is I can not see any of the content at all, it keep asking me to subscribe again. Fix was to log in direct and not use the iTunes connection. Works now but shouldn’t be this difficult. Even when it is working there still is banner ads asking you to subscribe even if you already do. Those got to go away!! Come guys you can do better.

Been a subscriber for a number of months and each month have been disappointed that the app crashes when you get to the last 1/3 or so of the magazine. If the app doesn’t outright crash, then the content doesn’t populate.

Love the magazine but I hate the app, keeps crashing halfway down the issue.

I’ve yet to write a review on the App Store after 10 years. But I need to add myself to the growing list of people upset about the constant crashes in this app. I’m a big fan of recoil and their content, but the app is making it nearly impossible to view my subscription. Every time I launch the latest issue the app crashes. If I attempt to open it and go to the last page I was viewing it just crashes again. At this point this app is nearly unusable.

The app removed previous purchases which either needs to be fixed or refunded... It also deleted all the concealment issues... They don't mention these problems until you upgrade you're app then they recommend you use the old app.... Do they understand how this works? There's no going back with Apple! In response to the reply... Yes... Thanks Captain Obvious... Of course I entered my iTunes info and restored the issues you decided to make available. My point is this... Did anyone from the company actually used the app before foisting it on the users? If so maybe you would have waited until ALL the purchased content was available. I don't pay to be your beta tester... Quick follow up... you should ask for your money back from the Cub Scout troop of Bayonne NJ, their web skills just ain’t cutting it... this version is just as F’d up as the previous. Really, you guys need to get serious...

The articles are great, but the app lets things down. If you close the app, or it sits idle for awhile, it forgets which issue & page you were on. It defaults to the Store page, and you have to go looking for where you left off. Also, it doesn’t save bookmarks in iCloud. When you buy a new iPad, you can download the app but lose all your bookmarks.

I cannot open or view any issues after SEP/OCT 2018. Apple will not refund my subscription. I have been corresponding with the publisher for a month and all they tell me to do is delete the app and reload - with the same result every time. I am done with Apple, done with TEN:PUBLISHING, and done with Zinio.

Frequent crashes, slow, wastes enormous amounts of time.

I heard about Carnivore Magazine on a recent podcast (the Hunting Collective) and wanted to check it out. The content of the magazine seems very interesting and informative, but it is impossible to tell because the pages in the magazine are completely out of order, with portions of each story spread out in different sections of the publication.

The APP may have some issues but the customer service is great! I will put up with the issues for the content and knowing that customer service is so responsive.

The app was terrible on my iPhone 5s and older iPad. I got a new iPad, gen 6, and haven’t had an issue yet. Great magazine!

Last year worked fine, now crashes every time. I now have 3 issues downloaded that I’ve never been able to read.

Like the magazine but you can only read a page or two before the app crashes. If you are paying money for something you want it to work at least some of the time. Don’t waste your money on this.

Magazine content is second to none. As a subscriber for years, I’ve been very impressed, but the app is horrible and getting worse. I’ve been unable to retrieve both Nov/Dec and Jan/Feb issues. Tried restoring my purchases. Tried deleting the app and reinstalling. Nothing works. The old issues are accessible, but any new content is inaccessible. Sadly, for now I’d recommend staying away until the app developers get their act together.

You would think as much money as Recoil spends on photography and its magazine article presentations, they could invest in an app that worked correctly. App is very temperamental and often crashes while reading an issue. It also continually wants you to “restore” previously viewed issuer etc. wish I had just had the hard copy.

Wish I could give it 0 stars. When I download and click on an issue that I've paid for the app promptly crashes, every time, like clockwork, no exception. I would love a refund because I've been unable to view the last 3 issues. Do not subscribe!!!

App is sketchy AF. Customer support is responsive, but offers no solution. I’m a paid subscriber who is unable to access some issues.

Great Magazine, awful app. Have to spend 3 days going back and forth with the app's tech support every time a new issue comes out to prove I have a subscription.

The app will not recognize my digital subscription. Its too bad, but the good news is that we have other choices when looking for magazines. Do not purchase a digital subscription!!
